DESCRIPTION OF A PLACE

I live in a little town in a small country. Most of the year it’s really rainy here. Obviously, there aren’t any deserts. In summer it can be quite warm, about 30 C. Unfortunately, most of the time it’s hot. It never snows.

There are forests and huge mountains in the centre of the country. The rain creates hundred of rivers and waterfalls. There were bears here 100 years ago. Now the most interesting animals and birds.

We have got some beautiful beaches which are very popular among tourists despite the rainy weather. Around the coast there are farms, sheep farms. My country is famous for meat.

Luckily, I don’t like big cities because is the village I can ride a horse and walk in the mountain.

I think this is the best place to live!

Film review

FILM REVIEW – CASINO ROYALE

I’m not a great fan of action films so I wasn’t expecting to enjoy Casino Royale. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this action-packed film, which is based on Ian Fleming’s very first James Bond book.

The plot centers on a poker game at the famous Casino Royale. “Le Chiffre”, a master criminal, must be beaten in this game in order to destroy his terrorist his terrorist network. The game gets complicated by Bond becoming attracted to the mysterious government agent, Vesper Lynn.

The acting is first-rate. Daniel Craig’s performance as the young Bond is utterly convincing and he is well supported by the rest of the cat. Visually, the film is superb, despite the absence of the spectacular special effects that are a hallmark of other Bond films. Particularly impressive to watch is the opening sequence which involves a “free running” chase.

I was amazed that I liked this film as much as I did, but I put this down to the power of Daniel Craig’s acting. I can recommend this film to almost anybody

Stonehenge is a very special monument in England. It’s said to be more than 5000 years old. The “henge” in its name refers to circular structures from ancient times. In this case it refers to the circle of huge stones that stands upright in the centre of the monument.

No one knows exactly why Stonehenge was built. Some people believe it might have been used as a device for predicting the movement of the Moon. Stonehenge includes the largest stone constructions in the British Isles. The monument’s biggest stones are arranged in the shape of a horseshoe and are surrounded by another big circle of right tall ones. Originally all of these surrounding stones had stones on the top, covering them like caps. Some are still capped.

It is a circular ditch. Inside there are several other stones, including the Altar stone, the Slaughter stone, and two Station stones. In the northeast of Stonehenge there is the entrance. Outside there is the Heel Stone and a straight patch called the Avenue.

The Stonehenge that you can see today is more like a ruin. Much of it has probably disappeared with time and with changes brought on by the weather over thousands of years

LES PLANES DE SON


Five year ago the Vedruna-Berga school pupils organized a two-day trip by bus to Les Planes de Son, in Pallars Jusà.
The hotel was as big as Rasa dels Molins square.
While we were visiting the hilarious animal park it began to snow, and everybody went into the hotel. At the end of the morning the workers told us wonderful true stories and also how and who looked after the animals.
In the afternoon, we played a funny game related to the places where the animals lived, and at night we watched an interesting film called “The day after tomorrow “. The following day, we came out and went to the woods to see the animals, but we were unlucky and we had to come back because the snow was so deep that it reached our thighs.
All our parents were worried because they didn’t know if we would come back.Finally, we arrived at our houses happy and safe. It was a fantastic excursion but the weather was really awful

LONESOME GEORGE: An endangered animal

Lonesome Georege is one of 11 subspecies of Galapagos tortoise, native to the Galapagos Islands.
Lonesome George is suspected of being the last of the species. He was found on Pinta Island in 1971 by hunters of goats, and his name comes from a character played by the actor, George Gobel.
George was born between 1900 and 1908 ( in fact, Galapagos’ tortoises can live 180 to 230 years or more), and he is in good health.
It is probable that George has got brothers or sisters in Pinta, so, this species can persist. Also, there is a reward of 10.000$ for the discovery of a female.
Once again eggs have been found in the corral of giant turtle. In 2008 it was discovered that the females who accompanied Lonesome George had laid 16 eggs. Moreover, in 2009 they discovered five new eggs could contribute to save this subspecies from extinction. However, some of them were shown to be inviable.

COMPOSITION


First of all I ‘m Sergi and I’m fourteen years old but in June I will birth fifteen.

I want to talk about the Swedish and Catalan exchange, called Comenius and some other things.

When the classes started all the students created a blog. In this we do a lot of activities and works such as The Radio programme, recipes, a lot of compositions and so on.

Actually, we are continuing our blog.

Well, the activity I liked most was the radio programme because I never used this. Although the problems with the computer I have enjoyed doing all this specific activities, so, there were funny for me.

One day I did and oral activity. Really I’ not good at doing this activities due to I’m always very nervous.

In fact, in this task I used fillers, a variety of vocabulary, some markers and so on; but I sometimes read the text within look the audience.

I think that all the activities are right because I used the correct grammar.

Now I will to talk about the English classes this year.

- Well, this year I have learnt some new things, for example the passives, some modals and more linking words. I have learnt more vocabulary too.

To sum up I’m really very proud with my school work.

My childhood memories

Do you remember when you were a child? Write about your childhood memories.

When I was a child I had blond hair, but my personality was the same that right now .
I spent all my time playing with my family because I haven’t got any brother and sister.
From Monday to Friday I was going to school but at the weekend I went to my grandparents’ house because my parents were working. In the garden’s house I played football but three years later I began to watch the cartoons with my grandfather John.
When I was 6 years I met my friends to play in my home. My parents and I rarely went on a trip because I had health problems. When I was 8 years I went to the hospital one week because I was very ill. Two years later my house burned but we were well.
To sum up, I’m very proud of my life. Although I have had problems and I’m looking forward to more good things.

My fabourite song: Celebration by Madonna

I’m going to talk about my favourite Singer, my favourite song and other things about her. Her name is Madonna Louise Ciccone or simply Madonna as everybody knows her. She was born in the USA in 1958 and is the most popularpop singer in the world. The most famous in the latest three decades.

At present,she records for the American company “Warner Bross”.Madonna has got thousands of fans who follow her music and adore her.



Her latest album called “Celebration” is my favourite and the main song is cool.

If you listen to the song, it tells you how to enjoy the life. The lyrics is wonderful. It really gets to your heart when you are in trouble and feel down. It cheers you up!

I always listen to this song when I feel like going out and want to have a party. It makes me feel more motivated and optimistic.



The video clip is also amazing. You can see her latest boyfriend as a DJ and her daughter dancing with her. Although it is not very much connected to the lyrics , it is colourful and very fun. It’s just simple but very lively.



To conclude, I would say that despite having lots of imitators, there is only one Queen of Pop. It’s impossible to replace her because for me, she’s only one.

I think that in 20 years old I will be 34 years. My physical appearance will be very different because I will be thinner than now. I will have long and dark hair and my eyes will be darker than my cousin’s eyes.
My personality will be identical than right now. I will be kind, friendly, creative and so on but I will continue to be shy. Althaugh I will be proud. Also I will have problems…..
I will have two sons with my couple and we will live in a big house but we won’t have swimming pool and garden because it will be too expensive. If we have money, we will buy a white horse.
I think that I will be a French teacher but my wife will be unemployed.
Every Saturday I will practise basketball and hockey.
In twenty years I won’t smoke but I won’t be healthy because I will have health problems.

Chiken and Chips

POLLASTRE AMB PATATES/ POLLO CON PATATAS/ CHICKEN WITH CHIPS









COOK TIME: 35 MINUTES

LEVEL: MEDIUM



INGREDIENTS



· 1 chicken drumstick

· 100gr. Peas

· 2 potatoes

· 1 carrot

· 1 onion

· Oil

· Salt

· Pepper

· Water



METHOD



1 First put the oil and the chicken drumstick into the pan. If you like, you can add some salt and pepper to your taste.

2 In a separated pan, fry oil, tomato, onion and chopped carrots. Three minutes later add a little water in it.

Stir regularly for 7 minutes and mix it with the chicken

3 While the chicken and the vegetable mixture are cooking take a pot and put some water and the peas to simmer.

4 While the peas are simmering, peel and quarter some potatoes and put them in another pan to fry. Cook them for 5 minutes until they get brown. Stir them frequently.

5 Place the chicken drumstick with the fryed and the peas and add the chips. If you prefer you can make a green salad.

6 If you like, put the dish into the oven for about 5 minutes.

7 Finally, serve it immediately.

Story

It was a dark and stormy night when it happened an amazing
thing…

While we were visiting the hilarious animal park it began to snow,and everybody went into the hotel. At the end of the morning the workers explained true stories and told us how and who looked after the animals.
In the afternoon, we made a funny game related to the places where the animals live, and at night we watched an interesting film called “ The day after tomorrow”.
The following day we wanted to see animals but we couldn’t open the door because of the snow.
Finally, we came out but we were unlucky and had to come back because the snow was so deep that it arrived at our thights.
All the parents were worried because they didn’t know if we would come back.
Nevertheless, we arrived at our houses happily and safe but the weather was awful.

Composition about myself

My name is Sergi and I’m fourteen. I live in Berga with my parents. We live in a small flat near the city centre but my dad is building a new house in the countryside. I’m really looking forward to having a garden. Actually, I like living in a huge house. It’s exciting!



I like school and I’m good at English because when I was a child my dad used to speak English to me. On Mondays I go swimming, well, From Monday to Friday. I study a lot but at the weekend I meet my friends and go for a walk.



In my free time, I like doing sports, but my fauvourite sports are volleyball and swimming. I like playing the piano but I hate playing football.



By the way, I love telling jokes with my friends.
